Sunflower II
dessert before dinner
I am a sunflower, always even when the light leaves for a cycle longer than the last I know it will pass. I turn my head East, anticipation for the sun to return even just a moment in passing I feel as though I am trespassing to a realm not meant for me, now a grassy expanse perking to the east I take enough to feel pleased. a bottle of sunshine, always stored in my back pocket to open under a clouded moonlight like a map to the stars in the night. I think it’ll be alright as I follow the sunlight petals reaching a new height like it is their only plight.
