Opalescence innocence,
this is what derealization feels like sometimes
transparent as was she was
Youth did not last for long
the waves out of her rock began to let go.
facades fell, between shimmers of blue and indigo
Pink, rosy cheeks were only from the cold.
She sat outside, often, nestled in the snow
until her toes turned and breath began to slow.
Beaming lights fossilized into opaque features;
A still motion of the sea
uncapturing of the captain’s plea.
Though everything was known, transparent as she was,
But maybe too far was this plight,
at sea, or under the sheath of white.
And the film turned sour, a noir falling action
and the audience was void of affairs;
Only sixteen stationed stained red chairs.
She sat on alone;
A view from outside,
viewed too, from outside,
Of the shell,
not the snow
or the forced vertigo
Tummy aches from the sea
painted black spots in my eyes
and I couldn’t see color rise
From a little opalescent rock, transparent as she was,
Could not weather the weather
of the enveloping placid aether.
Because she found beauty in the color
of red eyes and purple toes.
Youth can't last for long, or so it goes.
I plead to be
Of opalescence, innocence
In an expanse of gravel sentiments.
